Split PDF¶
Open a visual page review from Finder, create the output parts you need, name them, and assign every page before saving separate PDFs.
- Access: MenuSmith Pro
- Finder availability: Single PDF file
See the Split PDF overview and screenshots on the MenuSmith website.
Add and configure¶
- Open Action Library and find Split PDF.
- Choose a starter configuration and add it to My Finder Menu.
- Select the new Menu Action and review its settings and availability rules in the Inspector.
- Run it from a matching Finder context.
Settings¶
- Split Behavior
Starter configurations¶
- Split PDF
Starter configurations set initial values only. Adding one does not permanently link the Menu Action to that starter.
What it can do¶
- See every page before splitting
- Create and name multiple output files
- Assign pages by clicking thumbnails or entering ranges
- Split pages evenly as a starting point
Typical workflow¶
- Right-click a PDF with at least two pages
- Create output parts and assign pages
- Review the names, then split
Important details¶
- A one-page PDF cannot be split.
- MenuSmith warns when pages are not assigned to any output file.
If MenuSmith asks for access, review Authorized Folders. If the Action does not appear, check Finder Integration and the Menu Action's availability rules.
